Kig Ha Farz is a traditional Breton dish that combines meat, vegetables, and a savory dough, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 300 g pork meat
  • 300 g beef meat
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 onions
  • 2 turnips
  • 150 g green beans
  • 200 g buckwheat flour
  • 200 ml water
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil with a generous pinch of salt and pepper.
  2. Add the pork and beef meat to the boiling water, then incorporate the chopped vegetables (carrots, onions, and turnips).
  3. Simmer everything on low heat for about 60 minutes, until the meat is tender.
  4. While the mixture simmers, prepare the dough by mixing the buckwheat flour with the water until smooth.
  5. Once the meats are cooked, fold the dough into the mixture, stirring gently.
  6. Continue to cook for an additional 30 minutes until the dough is fully cooked. Serve hot directly from the pot for a cozy presentation.

Notes

For a different flavor, substitute the meat with chicken or ham, and vary the vegetables according to the season. Adjust salt and pepper to enhance flavors.
